Wild Lights Dublin Zoo

Dublin Zoo's Wild Lights is a magical experience for the whole family. After the sun sets on the stunning Phoenix Park Dublin Zoo comes to life with the Wild Lights spectacle. This is an amazing experience for the entire family to explore and experience. You can purchase tickets through the Dublin Zoo Website.

 

Visit a Museum

Dublin has a wide variety of museums to choose from this winter and they are the perfect places to escape the cold. Whether you are looking for something educational for the whole family or to show off your artistic knowledge Dublin has a museum to suit all your needs. 

 

Bus Tours

Too cold for you? No problems just take a bus tour. There are several options and different routes you can take to explore the city of Dublin. Firstly, DoDublin offer up to a 48 hour hop-on hop-off bus tours at €35, you can catch this bus outside of St Stephen’s Green Park only a 10 minute walk from the Mespil Hotel. These bus tours are adding a little extra Christmas Magic to their tours this year, inncluding visits from santa and even a choir or two singing carols for all.

Another option is the Big Bus Tours, they offer a 48 hop-on hop-off bus tours tickets and even offer a “Kids Go Free” promotion. You can catch this bus outside of St Stephen’s Green Park only a 10 minute walk from the Mespil Hotel. For those wanting a little more style with their tours you should try the Vintage Tea Trips, where you receive a guided bus tour around Dublin with the added benefit of an Afternoon Tea, the bus picks you up and drops you off in Temple Bar . 

 

Warm up with an Irish Coffee

Warm up in any one of the many Irish pubs that Dublin has to offer and enjoy a traditional Irish Coffee. Ask our knowledgeable staff at Reception or Guest Relations for their suggestions for the best Irish pubs nearby and we will be happy to point you in the right direction. Some of the venues around us have the added benefit of hosting Trad Music sessions over the weekends. Soak up the atmosphere and warm up the Irish way this winter. 

 

Take in a Show

Dublin is home to many different event venues that are showcasing the best of Irish culture this holiday season. Most notably this is the perfect time to take the little ones off to see a Panto, and Dublin has various options to keep them amused. The Gaiety Theatre is showing Peter Pan, the Bord Gais Energy Theatre is showing Mary Poppins, and the Gate Theatre is showing Peter Pan watch one or watch all of them.

 

Get the Christmas Shopping Done

Dublin is the perfect place to get all your Christmas shopping done, with a variety of different areas you are sure to find that perfect gift for someone special. Bask in the Festive lights of Grafton Street only a 15 minute walk from us and enjoy the talents of live performers up and down the street. Another 10 minutes of walking and you will find yourself on Henry Street with its stunning Christmas lights and the flagship Arnotts department store with its festive Christmas window displays. A christmas market will also be held in Dublin Castle this year this December!
