Getting Around Dublin is easy. So depending on where you want to go there are few different options on our door step.
Public transport
There are a variety of public transport options within walking distance to Mespil Hotel.
When taking a Dublin Bus you will need exact change for the fare as the driver does not have any change or you can buy a Leap card in a local shop (such as Maxol Petrol Station located across from our front entrance).
The following bus routes depart from stop number 7333 located just across from The Lounge Bar at Mespil Hotel, in front of ‘Connaught House’.
38a/b/c/d Towards Damastown – this bus goes directly through the city center. If you are looking to get to Grafton Street stop at ‘Dawson Street/Nassau Street’ or O’Connell Street stop at ‘O’Connell Street/Henry Street’.
39/x towards Ongar – this bus also goes through the city center. If you are looking to get to Grafton Street of Trinity College/Book of Kells stop at ‘Dawson Street/Nassau Street’, if you are looking to visit the National Gallery/National Library/National Museum hop off at ‘Leinster Street South/Clare Street’ and all are within a few minutes walk.
70 towards Dunboyne - this bus also goes through the city center. If you are looking to get to Grafton Street of Trinity College/Book of Kells stop at ‘Dawson Street/Nassau Street’, if you are looking to visit the National Gallery/National Library/National Museum hop off at ‘Leinster Street South/Clare Street’ and all are within a few minutes walk.

Mespil Hotel is just a short walk away from the Luas ‘Green Line’ which travels from ‘Brides Glen’ to ‘Broombridge’. This line travels through notable stops Ranelagh, Dundrum, St Stephen’s Green, Trinity College and O’Connell Street. Catch the Luas at the Charlemont stop, just ten minutes from Mespil Hotel. Tickets can be bought at the Luas stop or you may also use a Leap card, just remember to tap on and tap off!
The closes Dart stations to the Mespil Hotel are Grand Canal Station and Lansdowne Road Station. From these stations you can get a dart to Malahide, Bray, Greystone, Howth and Dun Laoghaire. Tickets for the dart can be bought at the dart station.
Taxi
There is a taxi rank is located at the hotel entrance or the Front Desk can assist organising one.
Dublin Bike
The Dublin bikes system is a self-service bike rental system open to everyone over the age of 14.
From the Mespil Hotel the closest Dublin bike station is located by Baggot Street Bridge, which is only 2-minute walk for the hotel. The closest Dublin bike station that is credit card enabled is located by Leeson Street Bridge, 5-minutes walk from the hotel.
